Pre-orientation checklist
Getting started with UCI Health means that you must complete several things before attending New Employee Orientation on your first day.
Have you:
- Attended your paperwork session with a member of the HR team?
- Attended your health appointment with Occupational Health?
*This may require follow-up appointments for TB tests and other items - Completed your background check online?
- Given HR the documents required for your file (diplomas, transcripts, licenses, etc.)?
- Filled out your parking pass for the B200 lot? Don't forget to place it on your dashboard.
- Communicated with your hiring manager about your schedule?

Your first day at UCI Health will be a new employee orientation day. A variety of onboarding topics will be covered during orientation, including:
- Mission statement and values
- Parking
- Uniforms
- Compliance
- Payroll
- Benefits
- Logging into your UCI email and other systems
Be sure to arrive early to allow enough time for parking in the B200 lot and getting to the 8th floor of the 200 Manchester building.
Orientation schedule
If you are unsure of your orientation schedule, verify your start date with your recruiter or onboarding specialist. Then you can refer to the list of events and trainings below that will take place during your first week.
New Employee Orientation
Upon successful completion of your health clearance, background check and new employee paperwork, you will be able to attend orientation.
- Date and time: Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Location: 200 S. Manchester Ave., Orange, 8th floor, classroom B (get directions)
- Parking: Lot B200, located at 200 S. Manchester. Please be sure to fill out the information on the permit you received and place it face up on your vehicle dashboard.
- Dress for success: Business casual dress is required (no jeans, shorts, sundresses, sandals, etc.). Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes for a brief tour.
- Please bring: The new hire packet you received from Human Resources.
Light refreshments will be provided in the morning. A meal ticket will be given for lunch in the cafeteria. The afternoon will be spent in the computer lab setting up account access, as well as answering questions about payroll and benefits.
Customer Service Training
This is mandatory training for all employees.
- Date and time: Friday, 8 a.m. to noon
- Location: 200 S. Manchester Ave., Orange, 8th floor, classroom B (get directions)
You may be required to attend additional training, such as EPIC and/or Active Staffer.
These are scheduled by your department. Additional details will be provided on orientation day. If you have questions about which additional training class you're scheduled to attend, please contact your hiring manager.
EPIC training
Managers will schedule their new hire for EPIC training using the "EPIC Training and Access (NEW)" category, found in the ServiceNow system
For assistance with scheduling for the appropriate EPIC training, contact the IS/EPIC Service Desk at 714-456-3333.
Active Staffer training
- Inpatient nursing department employees only
Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. to noon at 200 S. Manchester Ave., Orange, 2nd floor, room 202

Any new employees who need Active Staffer training will be automatically added to the class by the Staffing and Patient Placement Office, which is reachable by phone at 714-456-8455. An updated attendance roster will be sent out as well.
